First, we have exciting news. Our friend Nina, gave us a glowing review and a great honor. I just wanted to thank her publicly for her kind words and thoughtfulness. We really appreciate the sentiment and all of the compliments she paid to us can easily apply to her as well. We’ve both been reading her blog for some time now and I highly recommend that everyone pop over there and show her some love.
Second, another friend of ours recently posted an article entitled “Fat Chicks Unite“. She linked to a video in the article that pretty much says it all, not to mention the woman in the video is super hot. As a woman who has battled all of my life with my weight, it’s nice to see someone step up and say what needed to be said a long time ago.
I battled with anorexia briefly in high school over a boy (What better reason? stupid teenage crushes), and I know how serious of a problem not being comfortable with your body can be. I’ve also put off dating and other things because I didn’t think anyone would want to see me naked. However, I’ve never had a complaint about my body from any of my/our lovers. They’re usually too busy screaming in ecstasy to criticize a few extra pounds here and there. Besides, when I loose weight, I loose some boobage and buttage and believe me, my ass and tits get tons of compliments and it is a regular occurrence on Bourbon Street for men and women to stop me to take pictures of one or the other, and I’m not talking about flashing.
So, even though I do have some hang-ups some days with my weight, I know on most days that I wear my weight well and have the confidence it takes to approach a woman or man who I think is sexy. So, stop over at The Butterfly Temptress’s and click the video link. I think the video says it all much better than I can in this short segment, though I will probably do a full post on this in the future. For the record, I’m the same weight and size and the woman in the video.
Finally, Jonathan and I have started the preliminary discussions for our haunted house. We’re hoping to own a home or be able to rent out some space to hold it in this year, though I’m sure our usual space will be more than adequate. I’m beginning work on the scene painting and we’re solidifying some of our ideas for the scares. We have some great ones, but if anyone has any ideas they’d like to share with a couple of home-haunters, we’d love to hear them. Our current theme this year is “Cannibal’s Ball”. Also, if anyone lives close enough to New Orleans, or wants to come visit, and wants to volunteer some time please contact us. We’re looking for volunteers to help with the sets and with the fun roles inside the haunt the weekend before Halloween through Halloween day itself.
In other news, we wound up having a pretty boring weekend at home. It was nice though. I’m still adjusting to the new job and having to deal with people on a daily basis. It’s not that I don’t like people, I just usually don’t have to be as sociable as I am in this position. However, being sociable at work might translate into being more sociable outside of work in the next few weeks to come. We are going out later tonight, so if anything interesting happens, you’ll be able to read about it here.
Thanks again to Nina at Lazy Geisha for her wonderful review and to The Butterfly Temptress for her thoughtful post. Also, a thank you goes out to the girl in the video for having the courage to speak up for all of us “fat chicks” out there.
