The Dating Couple

I became a convert yesterday. I had a life-altering experience that filled me with joy and sent both my body and my soul to new heights.

It was a spiritual experience, one that taught me a great deal about myself as a human being and showed me that, no matter how well you think you know who you are, new experiences can open you up to exciting possibilities, exposing a whole new side of yourself.

That’s right, I got a Mac. Specifically, a Mac Mini.

First, we have exciting news. Our friend Nina, gave us a glowing review and a great honor. I just wanted to thank her publicly for her kind words and thoughtfulness. We really appreciate the sentiment and all of the compliments she paid to us can easily apply to her as well. Depending on how you read this site, you’ve probably noticed one of two things:

1. A lack of updates
2. A lack of, well, site

To make a long story as short as possible, we were, up until a few hours ago, hosted with Dreamhost. However, sometime late last week, they began experiencing severe load problems on many of their servers, including the one we were on. For four days our site alternated between painfully slow and outright down.

To make matters worse, Dreamhost billed the problem as a “low” priority though thousands of sites were affected.  Not exactly the exemplary customer service I was promised.

So, on the advice of a good friend of mine, on Saturday, I started the process of porting the site over to Midphase.  The process went relatively smoothly, they even did the bulk of the transfer for me, and as of a few hours ago the DNS servers seem to have updated to the new location.

So now we’re back, in a new home at the same address. Coolest part of all is that this makes us next door neighbors to the lovely Nina.  Sadly, though we have tried, we have been unable to peek into her bedroom window.

Apparently good hosting will have to be enough motivation to stay.

Anyway, poke around the site some and let us know if you see any problems We noticed a few issues and squashed them right away (down gallery, some text problems, non-working permalinks, etc.) but there’s possibly more. Free thank yous to anyone that spots an issue!

There I was, diligently working on a new post. It was going to have everything important to me, sex, sex and cybersex. It was going to be a masterpiece. Surely it was worthy of at least a Pulitzer, probably more. They would have had to invent a new award to express the greatness of this piece.

However, when I hit save tragedy struck. The server was down. Worse still, the wonderful autosave feature built into WP, the one I had assumed was working diligently, didn’t actually save anything, meaning the site had been down for a while, and I lost my second first draft and got kicked back to my first first draft, which was too horrible to let out of the doghouse.

So rather than pollute the Internet with more garbage, like this post, I’m going to hold off a day and finish it up tomorrow. I promise that it will be good, or at least better than this (not much of a challenge I know).

In the meantime, if anyone knows where I can find a shotgun and a baseball bat, no questions asked, let me know. I have a message for my host.
